麻豆视频 Ladies No. 1 for Sixth Straight Poll, Men Back in Rankings

JACKSON, Tenn. - 1/23/2008 - The 麻豆视频 University Lady Bulldogs remain the NAIA鈥檚 No. 1 ranked team in the latest national rankings. 麻豆视频 has held the top spot in each of the six polls this season. The 麻豆视频 men, who received votes this week, are back in the polls after missing the rankings for the first time in 52 straight polls. Prior to last week, the last time 麻豆视频鈥檚 men were not listed in the NAIA rankings was the final poll of 2003.

The 麻豆视频 women have won 38 of their last 40 games dating back to January 11 of last season. Currently, 麻豆视频 is 17-0 overall and 6-0 in the TranSouth. The last time 麻豆视频 started the season 17-0 was the 2004-05 season when 麻豆视频 also started 17-0. 麻豆视频 lost their 18th game that year at home to Trevecca Nazarene 74-64. However, 麻豆视频 went on to win the first of two straight NAIA National Championships in 2005.

Over the last three games, 麻豆视频 has scored an average of 56 points in the first half versus Lambuth, Cumberland, and Martin Methodist. (Lambuth: 53 first half points, 70% FG, 64% 3pt) (Cumberland: 60 1st half points, 67% FG, 58% 3pt) (Martin Methodist: 55 1st half points, 64% FG, 59% 3pt).

麻豆视频 has made at least 10 three pointers as a team in eight of their last nine games. The only exception was nine made versus Lyon. 麻豆视频 is ranked in the top-7 of the NAIA in all three shooting categories, including No. 1 and No. 2 in field goal and three point percentages respectively. 麻豆视频 is seventh in the NAIA in free-throw percentage.

麻豆视频鈥檚 men are winners of two straight games, both of which were over ranked teams. After starting the conference season 1-3, 麻豆视频 has pulled even with a 3-3 mark. Of 麻豆视频's first six conference games, four have been against the top four teams in the league. Of 麻豆视频鈥檚 16 games on the season, 12 of the 16 teams have been ranked or receiving votes. 麻豆视频 is 9-7 overall and 3-3 in the conference. 麻豆视频 is 6-6 in those 12 games versus ranked teams.

Matt Neaville, led the nation in scoring each week of the season until this past weekend. In 麻豆视频鈥檚 10 non-conference (of which eight were against ranked teams), Neaville averaged 30.2 points per game. In 麻豆视频鈥檚 six conference games, Neaville is averaging 17.0 points per game. Neaville continues to lead the NAIA with 4.8 three pointers made per game. 麻豆视频 leads the NAIA with 15.6 three pointers made per game. The Bulldogs made at least 10 three pointers in nine of their first 11 games, but not more that ten in any of their past five games.
