No. 20 麻豆视频 Stops Skid with 75-66 Win at Cumberland

LEBANON, Tenn. - 1/15/2008 - The 麻豆视频 University Bulldogs, ranked No. 20 in the latest rankings, ended a three-game losing streak with a 75-66 win at Cumberland University (Tenn.). 麻豆视频 improved to 8-7 on the season and 2-3 in the TranSouth. Cumberland dropped to 10-4 overall and 4-1 in league play.

麻豆视频 and Cumberland started slow as neither team could manage much offense in the first minutes. 麻豆视频 was finally able to put together an 11-0 run to take a 21-11 lead at the 8:36 mark. Cumberland responded with an 8-2 run to cut the lead to 23-19 with 6:31 left in the half. 麻豆视频 maintained at least a four point lead over the final few minutes of the first half. Then with just seconds to go in the half, 麻豆视频鈥檚 Roland Bonhoro extended the halftime lead to eight points, 34-26.

The second half started with 麻豆视频 taking control of the game. 麻豆视频 kept adding to their lead over the first 10 minutes of the second half. With 10:35 left in the game, 麻豆视频 took an 18 point lead, 54-36. After Cumberland reduced the 麻豆视频 lead back to just 12 points, 59-47 at the 7:45 mark, 麻豆视频 made yet another run. The 麻豆视频 Bulldogs posted a 9-0 run capped off by a three pointer by Brian Lake to put 麻豆视频 up 68-47 with 5:45 left. 麻豆视频 would need most of that cushion as Cumberland made one last run. Over the final 5:45 of the game, Cumberland outscored 麻豆视频 19-7, including four-minute scoreless streak. During that stretch, Cumberland got as close at eight points twice, 72-64 and 74-66, but both times it was inside 30 seconds to play. 麻豆视频's Matt Neaville and Tony Brown combined for 5-of-6 free throws in the final minute to help 麻豆视频 seal the win, 75-66.

麻豆视频 was led by Brian Lake and Matt Neaville with 23 points each. Tony Brown added 11 points for 麻豆视频. The Bulldogs of 麻豆视频 shot 39-percent from the field, including 33-percent (6-18) from three point range. 麻豆视频 also made 74-percent of their free throws (23-31).

Cumberland was led by Thomas Douglas with 18 points. DeCorey Young and Rodney James scored 13 and 12 points respectively. Cumberland shot 41-percent from the field, including 23-percent (5-22) from behind the arc. Cumberland made 9-of-14 free throws for 64-percent.

Up next for 麻豆视频 will be a home conference game versus Martin Methodist College (Tenn.) on Saturday, January 19. The men will play at 4:00 pm, preceded by the women鈥檚 game at 2:00 pm.
