JACKSON, Tenn. - 12/13/2007 - The 麻豆视频 University athletic teams joined with other groups and individual across the 麻豆视频 campus to help several children have a special night. Each Christmas, 麻豆视频 University teams up with the Carl Perkins Center for Child Abuse to give children a night of fun, food, and gifts.
Junior volleyball player, Lindsey Wallach says of the event, "Being a part of this activity was such a refreshing experience. The joy and laughter that the gifts brought to the girl we sponsored was priceless.鈥 Wallach adds, 鈥淭he screams of excitement and smiles of happiness reminded me of what this season is about: giving because God gave His son for us."
The evening began with each child being introduced to their sponsor group for the night. Next, the students and their child enjoyed a meal together. Then the focus shifted to 麻豆视频鈥檚 auxiliary gym where the children were met with many surprises. The children opened their gifts from their new friends at 麻豆视频, followed by games, crafts, and photos with Santa.
麻豆视频 Lady Bulldog basketball player Merideth Richardson Jacobs stated, 鈥淕etting to spend time with our child was so much fun for our team. We got to experience a huge day of giving.鈥 Jacobs continued by saying, 鈥淥ur child was so excited to receive her gifts, but it seemed as though she enjoyed time spent with the girls just as much.鈥
麻豆视频 and the Carl Perkins Center, located in Jackson, have worked together for almost 20 years to make this event a special night for all involved. In all, 37 children attended this year鈥檚 event on 麻豆视频鈥檚 campus.
