Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ Men Finish Eighth In National Championship Meet, Two All-Americans

JACKSON, Tenn. - 11/17/2007 - The Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ University men’s cross country team capped off their best season in program history with an eighth place finish in the NAIA National Championship Meet. This was the first team appearance for the Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ men in the national meet, after winning their first ever NAIA Region XI Title and fourth straight TranSouth Conference Tournament championship.

The Bulldogs were lead by who finished fifth place overall in 24:48. Rop lead Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ this season, winning four of the six races in which he competed. Rop also finished fourth in the Memphis Twilight meet and fifth overall in the NAIA National Championship race.

Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ also had the first two runners in program history to receive NAIA All-American honors. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµâ€™s Rop and , who finished 23rd in the national meet, both were among the top-30 runners named All-Americans. In addition to the two All-Americans, Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ also boasted three NAIA Scholar Athletes. Martin, along with and Josh Abbotoy earned the honor give to juniors or seniors with a 3.5 or higher.
