Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ Women Get First Ever NAIA All-American Runner; Team 28th in NAIA Meet

KENOSHA, Wis - 11/17/2007 - The Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ University women’s cross country team finished 28th in the 2007 NAIA National Cross Country Meet on Saturday. This was their second straight NAIA National Meet appearance as a team. Since the programs start in 1999, Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ has earned two automatic team bids (2006, 2007) and has sent six individual qualifiers to the national meet.

Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ also had the program’s first runner ever to earn NAIA All-American honors for finishing in the top-30 in the national meet. , a freshman for Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ, posted a 13th place finish with a time of 18:13 in the 5K run. She was just 1:13 off the winning time. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµâ€™s previous best individual time was 95th place. The team finish 25th last season in their first team appearance in the national meet.

Earlier in the season, the Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ women captured their fifth straight TranSouth Conference Title and their second straight NAIA Region XI Title to earn the automatic bid.

Also for the Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ women, Candace Cross finished 157 (19:41.7), Lydia Bond finished 216 (20:22.8), Erika Schnatterly finished 234 (20:48.4), Charley Moss finished 253 (21:04.6), Kayla Hauss finished 256 (21:09.7), and Ellen Bone finished 268 (24:45).

, for Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ, was also named an NAIA Scholar Athlete.
