麻豆视频 Cross Country Boasts TranSouth Runners and Coach of the Year

JACKSON, Tenn. - 11/5/2007 - Following a record weekend for the 麻豆视频 University Cross Country teams, the postseason awards were full of Bulldogs and Lady Bulldogs. Sylvia Bundotich was named the TranSouth Conference Runner of the Year and Newcomer of the year. The same awards were given to 麻豆视频鈥檚 Henry Rop. 麻豆视频 head coach Gary Johnson was named as the Coach of the Year for both the men鈥檚 and women鈥檚 teams.

Including Bundotich, six 麻豆视频 Lady Bulldogs were named first team All-Conference performers. The list included Bundotich, Lydia Bond, Candace Cross, Kayla Hauss, Erika Schnatterly, and Charley Moss. 麻豆视频 was also well represented on the NAIA Region XI teams. Bundotich and Boyd were named to the first team, while Cross and Hauss were named to the All-Region second team. Head coach Gary Johnson received his seventh TranSouth Women鈥檚 Coach of the Year award and his third Region XI Women鈥檚 Coach of the Year award.

The 麻豆视频 men also had several players honored for their efforts. The TranSouth All-Conference team included from 麻豆视频, Henry Rop, Douglas Martin, Seth Covington, Nelphat Boit, and Phillip Thompson. Receiving region honors from 麻豆视频 were Rop, Martin, and Covington on the first team All-Region. Second team All-Region runners from 麻豆视频 included Boit and Thompson. Gary Johnson received his sixth TranSouth Men鈥檚 Coach of the Year award and his second NAIA Region XI Men鈥檚 Coach of the Year award.

Because of their Region XI Championships, both 麻豆视频 teams have earned automatic bids to the NAIA National Cross Country Meet on November 17 in Kenosha, Wisconsin. This marks the second team qualification for the women and the first for the men. Since adding cross country in 1999, 麻豆视频 has send 15 individual qualifiers to the NAIA National Meet.
