Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ Men’s Soccer Places Four on All-Conference Team

JACKSON, Tenn. - 10/30/2007 - The Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ University men’s soccer team placed four players on the 2007 TranSouth Post Season Honors lists. Seniors Chris Lean and Benny Crozier were each named first team All-Conference performers. Junior Wagner Oliveira and freshman Guilherme Veiga were both named second team All-Conference performers. In addition, eight Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ Bulldogs were named TranSouth Scholar Athletes.

, a 6-foot-4 goalie from North Delta, British Columbia, has been a four year starter for Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ. Lean started 12 of the team’s 18 matches on the year as he battled injuries. Lean recorded 58 saves and allowed just 27 goals in his 1121 minutes played. His goals-against-average was 2.17. For Lean, this marks his second All-Conference honor. He was named All-Region and NAIA All-American as a junior.

, a 5-foot-10 midfielder from Glasgow, Scotland, has also started at Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ for four seasons. Crozier led Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ with eight goals and 19 total points. He also recorded three assists and two game-winning goals. Crozier has been named to the TranSouth All-Conference team in each of his four seasons at Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ, as well as, being named NAIA All-Region and NAIA All-American twice each.

, a 6-foot defender from Porto Alegre, Brazil, is in his first season with the Bulldogs. He was strong as a defender for Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ and also posted two goals on the season.

, a 5-foot-9 forward from Ipatinga, Brazil, has just completed his second season with the Bulldogs. He posted five goals, two assists, and 12 points on the season. Oliveira’s three game winning goals for Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ led the team.

Eight Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ Bulldogs were also named TranSouth Scholar Athletes. Scholar athletes at the conference level are players that are sophomores or above and have a 3.0 GPA or higher. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµâ€™s list includes Alessandro Oliveira (Londrina, Brazil), Brian Jones (Lexington, Tenn.), Mathew Lynn (Milan, Tenn.), Benny Crozier (Glasgow, Scotland), Chris Lean (North Delta, Canada), Kyle Sanders (Pagosa Springs, Colo.), Colin Bonner (Airdrie, Scotland), Brendon Kuhlman, (Cordova, Tenn.)
