Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ Holds Off RedHawks Rally for a 68-65 OT Win

The Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ University Bulldogs led by 16 points (39-23) at halftime and as many as 18 points in the second half, but allowed the RedHawks of Martin Methodist College to force overtime. Martin Methodist outscored Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ 25-9 in the final 12 minutes of regulation to force overtime with the game tied at 60 points each. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ outscored the RedHawks 8-5 in overtime to earn the 68-65 win. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ improves to 16-7 overall and 4-2 in league play. Martin Methodist falls to 16-8 overall and 4-3 in the conference.

Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ was led by Pierry Valmeria with 12 points and nine rebounds. Ben Frederick and Marcus Cooper each added 11 points each. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ shot 40% (10-25) from behind the arc. Seven Bulldogs made at least one three pointer, led by Cooper with 3-of-4 from behind the arc. Martin Methodist was led by Mike Hall with a game high 28 points. His three pointer with 10 seconds remaining in regulation tied the game at 60. Bacari Jones added 16 points for the RedHawks and Jason Roberson talled a double double with 10 points and 11 rebounds. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ held Martin Methodist to just 34% from the field and 27% (8-30) from behind the arc. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ's shortfall down the stretch was their inabilitity to make free throws. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ was just 6-of-15 (40%) for the game including three front end of one-and-ones in the final minutes.
