The Bulldogs and Lady Bulldogs continuted to set new records as four runners represent Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ in the NAIA Cross Country Nationals. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ's Royer and Konkol for the women and Cameron Groll and Chris Winter for the men are NAIA National Cross Country Indiviual Qualifiers. This marks the first time Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ has ever had four national individual quailifers in the same season. For Royer, this is her second straight NAIA National Meet appearance. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ has had just one in each of the past two seasons (Michelle Hardee, 2001; Janelle Royer, 2002).
In the NAIA Region XI standings, the Lady Bulldogs finished second and the Bulldogs finished third.
Jackson native Janelle Royer and Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ City native Jill Konkol finished 1st and 2nd in the TranSouth standings and 4th and 5th in the NAIA Region XI standings. These two runners have led Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ all season. In addition to the NAIA National Qualifications, Royer was named the TranSouth Conference Runner of the Year and Konkol was named the TranSouth Conference Freshman Runner of the Year. Both Royer and Konkol were named to the NAIA Region XI first team. Also for Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ Ruth Schroeder and Kate Graham were named to the TranSouth All conference first team. Gary Johnson was named the TranSouth Conference Coach of the Year.
On the men's side, in only their third year of competion, the Bulldogs finished second for the second time. In addition to being NAIA Nation Qualifiers, Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ's Cameron Groll and Chris Winter finished 7th and 8th respectively in the TranSouth and 12th and 13th respectively in the NAIA Region XI standings. Both Groll and Winter were named TranSouth First Team All-Conference and second team All-Region XI. Gary Johnson was named the TranSouth Conference Coach of the Year.
