Ala. – At the 23rd Annual NAIA Softball National
Championships at Wilson Morgan Park in Decatur, Alabama, Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ
University (Tenn.) edges by Warner Southern College (Fla.) 4-2 to
advance in the loser’s bracket to face the University of Mary
(N.D.) at 2:00 p.m. today.
ÌýThe
Lady Bulldogs of Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ scored two runs in the bottom of the third
inning to take the lead.Ìý Holly
Haycraft (1-for-3) led off the inning with a single and advanced to
second on an infield error.Ìý Christina
Johnson (1-for-3) hit a one-out triple to score Haycraft and Megan
Quarry (0-for-2).Ìý
ÌýWarner
Southern scored one run in the top of the fourth inning and one in
the top of the fifth to tie the game.Ìý
Jennifer Tustisch (1-for-3) tripled and later scored on a
fielder’s choice.Ìý In
the fifth inning Nadia Pagan scored due to a combination of fielding
mistakes and wild pitches.Ìý
ÌýÂé¶¹ÊÓÆµ
added two runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to seal the
victory.Ìý Amanda Dixon
(1-for-3) singled to start the inning, later scoring the first run
of the inning.Ìý The second run came when Jessica Kee (1-for-3) scored as a
result of hits by Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ batters and fielding errors.

improves their overall record to 45-12 and faces Mary while Mary
Kosco improves her record to 21-5 on the season.Ìý
Warner Southern ends their season with an overall record of
25-27.
