The Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ University Lady Bulldogs improved to 5-1 on the season with a double-header sweep of crosstown rival Lambuth University. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ took both games by the score of 8-0. Both games ended by way of the run rule.
In the first game, sophomore All-American Leah Gronberg got the start and allowed only five hits and struck out five batters over six innings pitched. The Lady Bulldogs tallied eight runs on nine hits and six Lambuth errors. Holly Christina Johnson and Megan Quarry each went 2-for-4 in the game.
The second game picked up right were the first left off as the Lady Bulldogs tallied three runs in the first inning to put the game away. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ added two more runs in the fourth and three in the fifth for the win. Freshman, Mary Kosco, pitched five innings of five hit ball and struck out six Lambuth hitters. Holly Haycraft, Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ's leadoff hitter, went 2-for-4 in the game with three RBI and a run scored.
