The Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ University baseball team remained perfect on the season with an 8-3 victory over Lindsey Wilson. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ swept the double-header by winning the first game 9-1. The Bulldogs are now 6-0 on the season and ranked No. 20 in the Preseason NAIA polls.
After giving up three runs in the top of the second, Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ roared back to tally four runs in the bottom half of the inning. Steve Sweat doubled, Marc Glass walked, and each runner advance on a wild pitch. David Canary then singled in both runners. After an error and a walk, Brandon Jackson continued his hot hitting with a two RBI double to cap off the four run inning. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ tacked on four mor runs in the game to record the 8-3 win. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ's eight runs came on 10 hits and two Lindsey Wilson errors. Lindsey Wilson scored three runs on six hits and one Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ error.
Leading Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ was Steven Sweat; 2-3 with two runs, 2 doubles, and one RBI, Jed Thomas 2-3 with a triple. Brandon Jackson 1-3, double, and three RBI.
Todd Winchester (1-0) got the win in relief of starter Andy Davidson. Winchester pitched 4.2 innings allowing five hits and no runs. Davidson gave up three runs (two earned) in 2.0 innings pitched. Jessie Pounds (0-1) received the loss.
