Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ Gets Their 30th Win and TranSouth's Top Seed

The No. 3 ranked Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ Lady Bulldogs defeated No. 5 Freed-Hardeman University at Henderson, Tenn. by the score of 62-54. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ improves to 30-2 overall and 15-1 in the TranSouth. Freed-Hardeman falls to 23-4 overall and 13-2 in the conference.

With the win, the Lady Bulldogs win their eighth straight regular season conference title and will be the No. 1 seed in next weeks TranSouth Conference Tournament. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ will have home court throughout the tournament.

Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ and Freed-Hardeman are ranked one and two in the conference in points per game, but today, both teams came out of the gates cold with neither team able to score. After eight minutes of play, Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ led 11-3. After that point, Freed-Hardeman picked up their play and rallied to made the score 24-24 at halftime. In the first half, Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ shot 27% from the field and Freed-Hardeman shot 36% from the field. Both teams only managed one three-pointer apiece. The shooting didn't improve much during the second half as both teams finished the game shooting under 40%. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ made 3-of-17 (.176) on the day while the Lady Lions made 2-of-10 (.200) from behind the arc.

Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ was led in scoring by Tashekia Brown with 14 points. Jessica Henson added 13 points and Allison Harrison tallied a double-double with 10 points and 14 rebounds. Freed-Hardeman was led by Ashlee Robertson with 14 points. Jessica Woodard scored 12, Hope Brown added 10 points, and Julie Hayes tallied 11 points.
