Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ overcame a halftime deficit to post their seventh straight conference with with a 76-62 win over Lyon. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ moves to 20-1 on the season and 7-0 in the TranSouth. Lyon falls to 12-11 overall and 5-2 in conference play. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ is the only team to defeat the Pipers this season as they gave them an earlier loss at Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ 75-37.
Lyon led by as many as five in the first half and led 33-31 at halftime. However, Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ came out in the second half and scored 45 points. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ took a 20-point lead twice in the second half and led by 20 with just over six minutes remaining. Lyon made a little run to cut the Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ lead to 12 but that was as close as they would get. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ held Lyon to 39% from the field and just 18% from behind the arc.
Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ was paced with three players in double figures led by Jessica Henson with a game-high 25 points. Henson made 4 of 9 three pointers, three of which came in the second half explosion. Ginger Bryant tallied a double-double with 23 points and 10 rebounds while Allison Harrison added 10 points. Lyon was led by Sarah Adcock with 16 points, Jennifer Steele with 12, and Precilla Mathias with 11.
The Lady Bulldogs are in action next on Saturday, February 1 at 2:00 p.m. when they host Cumberland University.
