Freed-Hardeman University (Tenn.) vs. Bulldog Soccer

Mon, October 14, 2002  4:30 p.m.   Â鶹ÊÓƵ
Â鶹ÊÓƵ Result: W 3-2

Â鶹ÊÓƵ righted the ship with an undermaned squad as the Bulldogs defeated Freed-Hardeman 3-2 in the opening game of the Boise West Tennessee Collegiate Soccer Cup. Â鶹ÊÓƵ improves to 8-6-1 and Freed-Hardeman falls to 5-8 on the year.

Just six days ago, Â鶹ÊÓƵ defeated Freed-Hardeman 9-1 in their conference matchup. However, Â鶹ÊÓƵ would find this rematch a little tougher, especially without kee players in the lineup. Both teams swapped shot on goal during the first half with no one connecting on a goal. It remained a scoreless game until 20 minutes remaining when Freed-Hardeman's Jonathan Edwards scored on of his two goals on the evening. Just three minutes later, Â鶹ÊÓƵ's Josue Tuchez added two goals only a minute apart to give the Bulldogs a 2-1 lead. Under 10 minutes remaining, Jackson's own Jared New gave the Bulldogs a 3-1 lead for good with his game winning goal. Kekec Zivkovic assisted on all three Â鶹ÊÓƵ goals.

Â鶹ÊÓƵ will play Bethel College on Saturday at 7:00 p.m. at Â鶹ÊÓƵ. In the first game of the day, Lambuth will play Freed-Hardeman at 4:30 p.m.
