Williams Baptist College (Ark.) vs. Bulldog Soccer

Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ improved their record to 2-0 overall on the season as they took the first game of the Jackson College Soccer Cup with a 9-0 win over Williams Baptist College. In Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ's first two matches of the 2002 season, the Bulldogs have scored a total of 15 goals.

Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ newcomer, sophomore Clovis Simas scored his first of three goals just two minutes into the game. The Bullodgs would never trail and took a 4-0 halftime lead. In the second half, the scoring rampage continued for Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ. Five different players scored for the Bulldogs. Leading the way was Simas with three, Joe Phiri with two, Ricky Mena with two, Christopher Anthony and Josue Tuchez added one goal apiece. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ's freshman goalie, Robert Stinson, held the Eagles of Williams Baptist scoreless for his first shutout of the season.

In the other match of the night, it was Covanent College defeating Lambuth University 3-0. Saturday's game will feature Lambuth and Williams Baptist at 3:00 p.m. and Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ and Covanent will play for the tournament championship at 5:00 p.m.
