The Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ University baseball team won their sixth straight game of the season by sweeping NCAA Div. II power North Alabama. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ won 7-6 in the first game and 6-1 in the nightcap. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ improves to 6-2 on the season while North Alabama falls to 6-2 on the year.
In the first game, Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ scored three runs in the bottom of the sixth and one in the bottom of the seventh inning to rally for the win. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ's David Canary (1-0) picked up his first win of the year in relief. Josh Allen, Zach Lowery, Seth Silcock, and Chris Wright each tallied two hits on the day. Lowery led the way with three RBI. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ scored the game winning run when Cory Kroeger of North Alabama hit Silcock with the bases loaded to score Patrick Williams.
In game two, Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ scored a run in the bottom of the second and then broke open for five runs in the bottom of the third to secure the 6-1 win. North Alabama's lone run came in the fifth inning. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ's Zach Lowery provided a two RBI single and Jason Johnson hit an RBI double to help pull away in the third inning. Chris Wright went 2-for-2 to complete a four-hit day for the senior. Lowery's two RBI led the way for Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ.
Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ plays again on Thursday at Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ versus Lindsey Wilson College in a double header starting at 1:00 p.m.
