Before Â鶹ÊÓƵ: Collins prepped at Cookeville High School where he played baseball for Coach Greg Tubbs. Collins helped lead his team to the 2008 District 7-AAA regular season championship in 2008. During his junior season, Collins led his team with a .450 batting average. His sophomore year he earned recognition for the most improved. As a freshman, Collins was named offensive player of the year.
