Coach’s Comments. Judson is an exceptional athlete who was our
best baseball player in the fall. He will play leftfield this year because of
Williams play in center, but as centerfield range. Judson will also see action
on the mound this year.
Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ Career. 2005...First Bulldog Season.
Before Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ. Powers has been a starter for Humboldt since his
freshman season. He was named first team All-West Tennessee and first team
All-Region during his career. He was named to the Babe Ruth Hall of Fame and
also was the MVP of the 2002 Babe Ruth 16 Year Old State Tournament. Powers was
named the offensive MVP, All-District, and District 12AA All-Tournament in 2003.
In 2004, Powers hit .509 for the season. In addition to baseball, Powers played
football at Humboldt were he was played quarterback, safety, and receiver during
his career. In 2002, he was nominated for the Wendy’s High School Heisman Award.
Powers excels in the classroom as well. He has a 3.8 GPA at Humboldt while
taking several advanced courses.
